We are facing an epidemic of pornography online of which the repercussions remain not fully understood. And it is frightening. With the click of a mouse, anyone, at any age, at any time can view porn online.

Governments are still tied up by the “it’s a free-speech issue” argument. The porn industry has managed to hold onto the theory that porn is victimless entertainment that involves only an individual and the consenting adults who participate. Regulations has yet to catch up with reality and with technology. In a global where anyone can produce and upload porn videos or images, the internet is becoming filled to the brim with hardcore pornography and disturbing content that nobody should be exposed to, aside from our children!

A written report from the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, N.J.,entitled, “The Social Costs of Pornography” points to new social science and brain research, and finds evidence that pornography causes multifaceted harms and warns that we will pay the price because of this.

Porn is teaching negative behaviors and attitudes towards sexuality. And while for adults this can be a big problem, for children that are seeing it, this is a disaster that can impact their capability to have any type of healthy sexual relationship if they grow up.

There is no level of education or warning that may prevent children from viewing pornography online today. The average child will dsicover porn by age eleven online.
